Along with quality plants, we provide 24 years of experience in the culture of those plants and how to use them in combination with one another.
Beth, as our grower for those 24 years, can provide valuable information on growing conditions and how to get the best performance from your plants, whether they are unusual perennials, annuals, or shrubs. Beth is also blessed with "the eye", a natural & intuitive ability for fine design- she can help put together a container or garden planting with equal ease.
We are a small, family-owned & operated nursery. Although our display space for shrubs and trees is limited, we have the flexibility, through our knowledge of many regional growers, to order nearly any plant for the landscape. Special orders are welcome, whether they are potted or bare root- during April & May, we are able to order bare root plants in bundles of 5 or 10, depending upon plant size. Bare root plants are easy to get in the ground, save some cost over potted varieties, and are a great way to start mass or screen plantings .
Landscaping is a large part of our operation, managed by Harley, who is both landscape consultant and installer.
He stresses high quality landscape design with a feel for the larger natural surroundings, each project unique to the client and setting. He brings 25 years of experience to the job, and is capable of creating almost any sort of landscape feature. Along with a knowledge of landscape plants, Harley brings many years of experience with wood, masonry, and earth forms, and specializes in fine woodworking and masonry landscape features.
We can create almost any conception, from a garden gate or bench, to patio or retaining wall, to cottage garden planting, to garden "follies" and traditional European garden features such as stone walls or espalier.
After 20 years, we are returning again to organic food production, in partnership with our children. Look this season for our roadside stand-we will be offering fresh produce, including several heirloom non-hybrid varieties.
